What is an If-Elif-Else statement?

If-Elif-Else allows your code to split in response to what the user chooses to do. For example,  you can use If-Else to code a simple yes or no question and based on the user choice, either the Yes code will be followed or the No code will be followed. However, with If-Elif-Else you can create conditions with more than just two answers.

Explanation:
The first line asks a user to enter an integer to answer the question. This number is then held within the variable called "litter". This value is then compared to the numbers pre-defined numbers in the "if" and "Elif" statements. If the number meets a condition, then that branch of the code is executed.


Relational operators

In the example code above, two different relational operators are used, == and <=. Below is a list of relational operators that can be used in your code
Relational operator
Description
==
If the values of two operands are equal, then the condition becomes true.
!=
If values of two operands are not equal, then condition becomes true.
>
If the value of left operand is greater than the value of right operand, then condition becomes true.
<
If the value of left operand is less than the value of right operand, then condition becomes true.
>=
If the value of left operand is greater than or equal to the value of right operand, then condition becomes true.
Relational operator challenges

Nested if statements

Is it possible to put an if statement inside and if statement?
Yes!
This is called a "nested if statement" and its away to provide extra functionality to your code

Boolean operators

Relational operator

and
both conditions either side of "and" must be true
or
One side of the "or" must be true
not
when you "not" a Boolean value, you have the opposite e.g. Not True = False
